Polyamide PA
Polyamides are types of thermoplastic and demonstrate good stability with high levels of durability and impact resistance. They also have favorable sliding characteristics and are resistant to wear.
This makes them suitable for use as a construction material in many technical applications, especially within engineering.
Polyamides are split into two categories: semi-crystalline homopolymers, of which the most common forms include
- PA 6G cast polyamide (standard type)
- PA 6 extruded polyamide
- PA 66 extruded polyamide
- PA 12 extruded polyamide
and copolymers, which may be semi-crystalline or amorphous.
One consideration in terms of polyamides is that they reversibly absorb and release moisture, which has an effect on their characteristics.
