ROBATEC® PC
PC | Polycarbonate
Characteristics: Strong, high impact resistance, good thermostability even at low temperatures, very high dimensional stability, offers good electrical insulation, highly resistant to high-energy beams, outstanding impact resistance right down to the lowest temperatures, significantly higher impact strength than PMMA (acrylic glass), lower water absorption, rigid, hard, good machinability, good adherence properties, good weldability, highest continuous operating temperature of all the clear plastics
Good resistance to diluted mineral acids, saturated aliphatic hydrocarbons, grease, oil
No resistance (stress cracks) to water hotter than approx. 60°C, bases, many solvents (e.g. acetone, carbon tetrachloride), coolants
Typical applications are where transparency and high application temperatures are required, e.g. insulating parts, coil formers, relay components, all types of lamp, housings, hoods, rear lights on vehicles
