ROBATEC® PET
PET | Polyethylene terephthalate
PET is a thermoplast and a construction material. It distinguishes itself through its good dimensional accuracy and high creep strength. Its sliding, wearing, and thermal characteristics are especially advantageous.
Characteristics: Outstanding dimensional stability, high thermostability, extremely low thermal expansion, very low water absorption, outstanding sliding behavior, good wear resistance, outstanding characteristics under long-term stress, strong, hard, and tough, high creep strength and surface hardness, good machinability, good adherence properties, good weldability, good acid resistance, excellent electrical insulation properties (PET natural), reacts to hydrolysis – take care when using with hot water!
Advantage over PA and POM: outstanding dimensional stability (better than any polyamide or polyacetal)
Excellent resistance to hydrocarbons, grease, oil, fuels, esters, ketones, diluted acids
No resistance to hot water above approx. 60° C, halogens, alkalis
Typical applications: Parts that need to retain their dimensions under high mechanical stress.
e.g. gears, levers, handles, control disks, cams, connector strips, connectors

ROBATEC® PET natural (also known as ROBALON®-HP)
Semi-crystalline thermoplast | Technical plastic
A polyethylene terephthalate (PET) that distinguishes itself by its enhanced compression strength and temperature resistance, low coefficient of friction, and good wear resistance. PET reacts to hydrolysis and is therefore unsuitable for continuous use in water-based solutions at temperatures above 60°C.
